Board & Officers

K Donald Evans
President/CEO
Don Evans is the President and CEO of Crewe Foundation. He is a gift planning professional with more than 20 years of experience helping donors and their advisors navigate the intricacies of using highly appreciated assets to fund charitable endowments and advanced charitable gift plans. Mr. Evans has presented nationwide to networks of attorneys, CPA’s and investment advisors and helps their clients implement charitable strategies into their estate plans and the sale or disposition of highly appreciated assets.
In addition to his work in the charitable field, Mr. Evans founded Ascent Development in 2001. His firm successfully developed and licensed many products in the packaging, industrial and technology industries. He continues to manage his firm’s ongoing partnership interests in real estate development and technology.
Mr. Evans serves on the Board of Directors of several 501(c)(3) public non-profit organizations that provide endowments for third-world education, social development, wildlife habitat restoration and music & the arts. He is fluent in Spanish and has degrees from Utah Valley University and The University of Utah.
He enjoys fly-fishing, skiing, free diving, hiking, traveling and spending time with his wife and three children. He resides in Utah with his wife Andrea.

M. Brett Gibbons
Board Member
Brett Gibbons is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and is the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer for GPS Capital Markets, Inc. In addition to his 14 years at GPS Capital Markets, Inc., he has 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Mr. Gibbons spent more than 10 years with The Vanguard Group where he worked with institutional investors and retirement plan sponsors. In his current role, Mr. Gibbons is responsible for enterprise risk, regulatory affairs, and has compliance oversight for the U.S., U.K., Europe and Australia.
Mr. Gibbons has held charitable volunteer positions for over 25 years mentoring youth as well as having served for many years as an ecclesiastical leader in his church. He is a graduate of Brigham Young University and is fluent in Spanish.
He is passionate about golf, enjoys traveling with his wife and spending time with his family. He resides in Draper, Utah with his wife and children.

Simon H. Cross

Board Member

Simon Cross is a certified public accountant and Founding Partner of Cross & Associates, a Salt Lake City, Utah based firm. He has served his clients in a wide variety of industries throughout his 26-year career but specializes in small business and non-profit accounting. Mr. Cross is also the President of Pinecreek Mortgage, Inc, a mortgage brokerage that he founded in 2001

Mr. Cross serves as a director on multiple charitable boards and volunteers his time and resources to local youth groups where he has mentored teenage youth for over two decades. He received his accounting degree from the University of Utah.

He enjoys snowmobiling, motocross riding, boating and traveling. He resides in Utah with his wife and children.
